Repairing printed circuit boards is one of our numerous services, some examples of which are given below.
E-NERGIE service plus-points
Your circuit board repairs are carried out in a workshop backed up by an engineering department. As a last resort, we manufacture replacement circuit boards, keeping your equipment operational for many years!
- Minor faults: We can repair your blown fuses or defective chemical capacitors.
- More complex circuit boards: We can work on insidious faults and in the most critical situations. These kinds of repairs demand specific skills and resources.
Repairs of complex circuit boards: Axis controller
Problem / fault: This type of card requires the use of a test bench to repair it without a drawing. To prevent the stress linked to de-soldering and soldering, the components are connected in-situ using pliers adapted to SMDs.
If the fault is due to the power supply, the failure of a capacitor causes the cascading destruction of several diodes and zeners. The repair leads to decoupling of the PCB and the heat sink.
The presence of burnt-out diodes under the switch-mode transformer requires it to be de-soldered. This operation requires special tools to remove the transformer without damaging the circuits and metal tracks.
Result of the repair: The machine on which this card is installed is back in production, after just a few days of downtime.
Repair of obsolete equipment: GS-R424 supply
Problem / fault: A circuit board fitted with a GS-R424 module, common ground, step-down voltage converter. The module accepts at input a maximum DC voltage of 46 volts and delivers at output a continuous DC voltage of 24 volts at a maximum 4 amperes. A hybrid, it consists of electronic components mounted on a PCB and resin-moulded in an aluminium box. The resin moulding prevents repair.
As the module is no longer manufactured, it is qualified as obsolete. The cost of supply is unjustified given the functions of the module, so we proposed to our client an alternative solution.
- Best practice identification
- Choice of technology and components
- Calculations and creation of a drawing
- Producing a PCB via CAD
Result of the operation: The use of modern SMDs offers a much smaller module with equivalent functions. The pinout is strictly compatible and allows mounting on the original card without modifications.
